Knees bear the brunt of a lot of force throughout our lives. If yours have been weakened by injury, overuse, or simple aging, you’ll need to adjust your workout routine in response. Rather than working with weight, exercises that rely on your body weight alone are safer.
However, even these done improperly can put too much strain on weakened knees. The following exercises are discouraged by physical therapists for that reason, but we’ve also included alternatives to help strengthen those critical joints and allow you to walk pain-free.
